A 2019 Retrospective of Jupiter Systems & Solutions
By felipe.lenhart on
We have reached yet another December, a time for evaluations and judgments, both in the personal and professional fields. Time to celebrate what went well and plan better what didn't go well. To reward those who have performed well and to encourage those who can support more and better for the company collectively. After all, in the time of Happy Holidays, it is the collective that is, in the family or at work. The team will always be bigger than individual talents, and it is from their effort and commitment that the best results emerge.
We ended 2019 satisfied and proud, but we will not fail to make the necessary assessments. The goal, of course, is to stick to our slogan and follow "Developing Solutions for the Future." This is exactly what Jupiter has been doing for almost two decades, supporting the computer modernization of Angolan companies and the economic development of the country. In this last Jupiter News of the year, we celebrate some of our achievements with the 2019 retrospective below.
May each employee, customer, partner and supplier finish the year with the certainty that by 2020 Jupiter will be with them to further advance our common business, relationships and interests.
Happy Holidays to all!
Luanda Azure Bootcamp
Earlier this year, we made History with a capital H, with support from Microsoft: we made the first Angolan Azure Bootcamp, with the motto “For Angola to set foot on cloud”. That Saturday, April 27, about 300 people heard Jupiter professionals and partner companies talk about Cloud Computing technology. The event, held at the main auditorium of the HCTA in Luanda, put the Angolan capital on the map of Azure and the global bootcamp network, which took place simultaneously in hundreds of cities around the world. PMO Global Awards
In early July, the situation was not at its best in the company. Not because of work, but football: on Day 2, the Palancas Negras were disqualified from the African Nations Cup. The next day, however, the sadness was overcome: we were informed that, at the Project Offices World Cup, Angola was doing very well, for the first time in history, the country won the title of Best PMO in Africa! And Jupiter was the author of this historic feat. Remember the story here.
Launched on October 17, the day of Africa's Best PMO Awards in 2019, the new site was the way Jupiter found to self-reward for the unprecedented achievement. More beautiful, modern and functional, our new home on the Internet has been developed with the latest technology and optimized to work on devices with different screen sizes. The site was designed, created and developed by a team of professionals from different areas of the company.
In August, we completed 1 year of Jupiter Academy, a project for exclusive employee training by company professionals. The Academy works like a real school, with weekday and Saturday lectures, course plan, attendance list, coffee break, quizzes, assessments and feedbacks. In 2019, the success of the initiative led to another ancient Jupiter routine being incorporated into the project: customer training. In this first year, we formed 35 classes from 20 different courses, involving more than 200 students in over 500 hours of training. Click to Learn more here.
In 2019, we increased our digital presence. In Luanda Azure Bootcamp, we launched an Instagram profile, which seven months later already has 255 followers. Also during the event, we did our first two live streams, via Facebook and YouTube (you can watch all the videos here). In October, when the Project and Process Office team went to London to receive the Africa Best PMO Cup in 2019, we also broadcast the ceremony live, this time through Instagram. As of this writing, 5,500 people follow Jupiter on Facebook, no Instagram, no LinkedIn e no YouTube!
